Child Care : Overview

Helping vulnerable children lead successful lives.

Through its Child Care work, The Duke Endowment accomplishes lasting change by investing in quality organizations, innovative approaches and proven programs. We focus on advancing evidence-based, nationally recognized practices that promote child well-being. For more information, see our Child Care overview.

We work through accredited organizations and other select nonprofit groups to help children, who are without the benefit of being supported by family or who are at risk for losing such support, reach developmental milestones and prepare for successful transitions to adulthood.

We invest in early intervention, collaborative approaches and projects that help organizations work more effectively to:

  • Help vulnerable children reach developmental milestones
  • Prepare teens for successful transition to adulthood
  • Help families stay together
