Improving Lives
Rural Church
In its Rural Church work to improve lives, The Duke Endowment places value on proven
programs and strategies. As we work to address persistent social problems, expand
individual opportunity, and provide essential support, we value established approaches
with clear records of success and replicable models.
We are especially interested in efforts that leverage results: through duplicating,
expanding, applying or refining proven programs. We weigh the true costs and relative
benefits of potential investments, and make funding decisions based on anticipated
outcomes.
Possible grant requests for this application category could include, but are not
limited to, work with affordable housing and child care programs focused on school
readiness. Approved grants in this application category will focus on existing measures
of human improvement associated with proven models and practices. Applicants should
be prepared to answer the following question:
What research-based or promising evidence of success is already available that supports
replicating or expanding the proposed program?
