Philip W. Freeman
2014-2016 Fellow
A native of Durham, N.C., Philip graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill, where he majored in English and minored in Entrepreneurship. He earned a Master of Public Affairs at UNC-Greensboro, and he completed graduate coursework at Fuller Theological Seminary in Colorado Springs. While at UNC-Greensboro, Philip worked in the grants and internal audit department for Greensboro Housing Authority. Before joining the Endowment, he worked at the Dale House Project in Colorado, where he provided care for abused, neglected and delinquent youth. He also worked in the Office of Management and Budget for Albemarle County, Virginia. As a Fellow, Philip focused on job training programs for youth aging out of foster care. He now serves as Division Manager for the City of Charlotte’s Community Leadership and Training Programs.
