Rhett N. Mabry

President

Rhett Mabry is President of The Duke Endowment, a Charlotte-based private philanthropic foundation. A native of Greensboro, N.C., he joined the Endowment in 1992 as Associate Director of Health Care. He became Director of the Child Care program area in 1998 and was named Vice President of the Endowment in 2009. He became President on July 1, 2016. Mr. Mabry holds a Master of Health Administration from Duke University and a bachelor’s degree from UNC Chapel Hill. Before joining the Endowment, he held managerial positions at Ernst & Young and HCA West Paces Ferry Hospital.

Mr. Mabry has served on the North Carolina Governor’s Early Childhood Advisory Council, and is a past board chair of the Southeastern Council of Foundations. He currently serves on the board of Candid, a national organization that compiles and evaluates philanthropic data. He also serves on the board of visitors at UNC Charlotte, the governance board of Blue Meridian Partners and the board of Above and Beyond, a nonprofit program providing after school programming in Title I schools around Charlotte.
