Mapes joined the Endowment in 2013 after working as a Special Adviser in the House of Commons and as an Executive Assistant at Goldman Sachs in London. She earned her Professional in Human Resources certification in 2015 and became a SHRM Senior Certified Professional in 2020. She graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a bachelor's degree in English literature.
